About
Humble Beginnings
Camp St. Raphael was founded in 2001. With the blessing of his grace Bishop BASIL, 85 campers and staff came together for one week in June to initiate the first Antiochian Orthodox camp in the diocese.
Impacting Our Youth
Since its inception in 2001, Camp St. Raphael has impacted over a thousand individuals. In 2003, one week was not large enough and a second week was added. In 2016, a third week was added to meet the growing demand. In 2022, Camp St. Raphael moved to a new campsite with three one-week sessions.
St. Raphael of Brooklyn
St. Raphael of Brooklyn is the patron saint of Camp St. Raphael. St. Raphael came to the United States in 1895 and began ministering to Orthodox throughout the country. He founded 29 parishes in the U.S. from 1905 to 1915.
A Note From Our Director
Camp St. Raphael is an opportunity for children from across the diocese and country to come together in a safe place to learn about the faith of our fathers, participate in the sacraments and make lasting friendships.
